Chamisa Herrera DVM, DACVIM (Oncology)
Diplomate American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (Oncology)

Dr. Chamisa Herrera is a board certified veterinary oncologist who has been practicing in the Pacific Northwest for the last decade. She is passionate about educating owners following a cancer diagnosis and empowering them with options. Quality of life for pets with cancer is her #1 goal.

Originally from rural New Mexico, Dr. Chamisa Herrera fell in love with the Pacific Northwest when she moved to Washington State as a child. When she's not caring for her patients, Dr. Herrera owns a small hobby farm in Bellingham, WA with her wife and 2 young daughters. On the weekends they can be found tending to the farm animals or spending time outdoors. She has three dogs, a cat, a few cows, a couple pigs, and chickens.

Dr. Herrera is also passionate about cancer research. Some of her research projects include investigating mast cell tumors, lung cancer, histiocytic sarcoma, immunomodulation, paraneoplastic syndromes, epigenetics of cancer, and palladia therapy.
